Grenson

Grenson began in 1866, when William Green started making shoes in a loft above a corn merchant in Rushden, Northamptonshire. He opened a first factory in 1874 and a larger one on Queen Street in 1895. The company shortened its name from William Green and Sons to Grenson in 1913. It makes shoes with a slightly sharper toe than a country boot. Look at the last and the sole in the listing, and note the Northamptonshire base, since Rushden is a town of its own, not part of Northampton.
