Tricker’s was founded in Northampton in 1829 and is often described as England’s oldest shoemaker. Most sources name Joseph Tricker as the founder, though a few name Joseph Barltrop. The firm received a Royal Warrant in 1989 as a supplier to the Prince of Wales, and it was renewed in 2024 under King Charles III. It makes country shoes and boots with a heavier sole. Look at the sole and the leather, which are the point of a country shoe, and keep it for jackets and country cloth rather than a fine worsted suit.
