Brioni

Brioni opened in Rome in 1945, with a first shop at Via Barberini 79, founded by the tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and the businessman Gaetano Savini. Fonticoli was born in Penne, in Abruzzo, where production followed in 1959 and where Brioni later set up a tailoring school. Kering bought the house in 2011. Brioni’s Roman style is usually described as fuller in the canvas than a Naples jacket. Look at the canvas and the finish of the lapel, and try both a ready-to-wear and a made-to-measure fit if the shop offers them.
