Stefano Bemer

Stefano Bemer was a Florentine bespoke shoemaker, born in 1964, who started in repair work in Greve in Chianti and opened his own business in Florence in 1983. He died in 2012. Tommaso Melani took over the house that year, when it was making about 300 shoes a year, and the workshop is now in a former chapel in Florence’s Oltrarno. The shoes are known for a chisel toe. Look for the last name, and ask whether a pair is bespoke or ready-to-wear before you compare prices.
