Edward Green

Edward Green dates from 1890 and still makes its shoes in Northampton. It aided the war effort with military boots and turned to shoes afterward. Designer John Hlustik bought the house in 1982. Output is small. Sources put it at roughly 250 to 300 pairs a week, with a mix of hand and machine work. Look for the slimmer English last in the listing, and try the size before you commit, since the last decides the fit more than the name does.
